RE: women who tow

I am a single mom to two great boys, ages 14 and 11. I started camping with them in a tent, then a pop-up, next a 19' hybrid, and now a 32'. If I don't tow it, we aren't going. I unhitch it, back it, and hitch it up again. If you think you can, you can. When the boys were younger, I did all the set up but now they are old enough to help. Good luck!!

RE: Sunset Trail Dealers

Don't worry about the gas. Some things are priceless. Go camping. Close to home.

RE: Forest River Salem Windows

I had a Salem and had the same problem. The dealer was unable to do much. I used clear tape around the edge of the screens to attach them to the window to fill the gap. Solved the problem.. Worked great and no bugs, and nobody could really see it.

RE: Fibreglass vs. Aluminum?

I live where there is hail and I always worried about my aluminum trailer. Now I have fiberglass and am glad I do. I can worry about other things now!

RE: Sunset Trail by Crossroads? Any input?

We have the 08 Sunset Trail 30BH and absolutely love it. Lots of storage, lots of room and I have been impressed with the quality. I like the propane tanks enclosed rather than on the tongue and since they are not totally enclosed, I have no concern about fumes coming into the trailer. I pull mine (dry wt. about 5300 lbs.) with a suburban 1500 using an Equal-i-er hitch and I am happy with how it pulls. The only problem I have with it is that we are not in it enough!! Good luck with your purchase. I think you will be satisfied.

what size compressor?

I plan on buying a compressor to blow out the lines in my trailer when I winterize it. Would a 1 gal. compressor be large enough to do the job or should I buy a larger size like a 3 gal. compressor?

RE: Crossroads Sunset Trail ST29RL

We have a 2008 Crossroads ST30BH and absolutely love it. Before we bought it, we researched many makes and models and went to many dealers to see what they had. We took our time and looked at a lot of trailers. We kept coming back to the Sunset Trail. There is a lot of convenient storage, lots of floor room and great quality. We added the upgraded insulation, ac and the larger fridge. Every time we go camping I am glad we made the purchase we did.

RE: Where do you put your hitch when you've set up?

Locking hitch pin. I got really tired of lugging it or worrying about it and the hitch pin was on sale for less than $15. Lay the bars inside the back of the sub off to the side on plastic. They stay there and I always know where they are.

RE: Help for a newbie please!

I have two boys ages 11 and 13. Our previous trailer did not have a slide but our current one has a full slide. GET THE SLIDE!! It just takes a minute to push the button to slide it out and the extra room is wonderful. The boys just get bigger!!

RE: chocks-what size pipe clamps?

Thanks for your help. I'll get 1/2" and put the wood block behind the wheel to get the angle. I will try to make them tomorrow.

chocks-what size pipe clamps?

I want to make some wheel chocks using pipe clamps but I am unsure what size pipe clamps to use. 1/2 " or 3/4"? Also, I am planning to cut the angles at 20 degrees. Is this correct? thanks for your help

RE: Crazy family of 7 getting ready to live in TT for a year!

Good for you!! It sounds great. Don't know much about your trailer but bunks and a slide would be nice and give you a bit of room. Have a great time!!!

Crossroads offers both the Zinger and the Sunset Trail lines. We have a sunset trail 30bh (5276 lbs.) and absolutely love it. They also have a quad bunk that you might look at.

RE: Sunset Trail ?

I have a Sunset Trail 30bh with a 40 gal tank. I had a trailer with a 50 gal tank before. I was concerned about the 10 gal difference too when I bought the ST. I can't answer your question about the water heater 6 gals included in the 40 gal but for whatever reason, I have found that the 40 gals in the ST30bh seems to go a lot longer than the 50 gal in the other trailer did. Now I know that doesn't make much sense, but everytime we go camping, it amazes me how we don't run out of water with the ST and actually have quite a bit left over compared to the other trailer. We often ran short of water in it. We sure don't seem to be doing anything different. Crazy!!

RE: Who is thinking they made right decision to go ultralight?

There are two ultralites out there that have 40 gallon tanks: Aluma Lite 26RKS and MaxLite 26RKS, both 27.5 ft. and under 5000# dry weight. Just wish they had a front window option so I can keep an eye on my tow vehicle! Hopefully we will see more lite trailers with extended travel amenities, like decent closet sizes and holding tanks. The Crossroads Sunset Trail 30BH also has 40 gallon tanks, 5276 lbs. and it tows fine with a half ton.

RE: Who is thinking they made right decision to go ultralight?

We have a 32' Sunset Trail 30BH by Crossroads weighing in at 5296. Couldn't be happier.
